ICT in EU – more taxpayers money

This set of proposals by the EU Commission is just the latest in a drive to provide ICT across the entire continent. Admirable you may think, but its not, as much of it is simply sinister, and I hope to be able to bring you in some later posts news from the inside, to show you how and why all this ICT is not designed for your benefit, as the EU uses billions upon billions of your tax money to set up the federal and governmental infrastructure to simply rule and control you.

Another plank in place for Federal Europe

The European Parliament voted to adopt a new regulation on aviation safety that could lead to the establishment of a Europe-wide counterpart of the U.S. NTSB. While each nation will continue to run its own investigation office for air transport accidents, the new regulation creates a “European network of civil aviation safety investigation authorities.”

The text of the bill came out of an agreement between the Parliament and the Council of Ministers–where governments are represented–under the co-decision process. Formal confirmation by the Council should come next. Then the regulation will appear in the Official Journal of the EU and come into force 20 days later.

Smoking Ban, the curious case of the missing news item

There has been a deal of interest in a post that I had put up earlier this month on the Bill to Amend the Smoking Ban.

There had earlier in the day been a number of referrals from the Henry Porter blog, specifically from one of his news items, http://henry-porter.com/News-items/Bill-to-amend-the-Smoking-Ban.html which is now…. not quite missing, but it has to be entered manually, as the URL redirects (me at least) to the main page.

It was interesting to note, that this subtle change occurred only after a number of visits to my blog from:

3 political parties but only one politic

So that’s over for another year. The Labour Party conference, which this year was the culmination of 6 months of leadership lacklustre boredom meetings hustings which has seen Ed Miliband, otherwise known as Miliband minor or more accurately Red Ed emerge the victor with the help, guidance and AV voting power of the Unions.

The conference itself has been a multi day blame fest, union after union (for it they who now hold the power), blaming everyone else for all our woes, right back to Thatcher and beyond, but never blaming themselves. For that it took their new leader to admit to some ‘mistakes’, but even that was limited in scope.

No politics for a day

Sunday. A day spent away from the politics. A day to enjoy the wonderful autumn air, wide open spaces and the company of those I love.

At the outer edge of the Brecon Beacons lies the town of Abergavenny, an historic castle town at the point where the River (Aber in Welsh) Gavenny joins the River Usk. The Castle, originally built by the Norman Lord William de Braose in the 12th century is mounted atop a hill overlooking the river and the extensive meadowland of the Usk Valley which faces the first Beacon mountain, the Blorenge.

The Sons of the Marxist join the circus

Well its all over, and the winner is:

The Muppet Show is back on the road and is sharing facilities under canvas with the Peoples Democratic Unite & Allied Unions Circus.

At the Big Top (no tents left after Gordon had to sell them) the ringmaster calls out, Roll up, Roll up, get ready for the grimmest show on earth.

Oh no boys and girls! whats this? who is going to be the Shadow Chancellor?

A bonfire of Quangos or a transfer of power to EU.

A HIT list of 177 taxpayer-funded bodies to be abolished in a “bonfire of quangos” has been drawn up, it emerged yesterday.
http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/201460/Billions-saved-in-bonfire-of-the-quangos-/

This story is running with most of the press this morning, so there must have been a briefing..
but before I start saying thank god, I want a copy of the detailed list, so that I can check it against contacts in the EU bodies that will inevitably take over responsibility for the remits that these quangos had, to see whether it is a genuine cull, or simply a movement of responsibility to the EU institutions.

Vince Cable and SEPA

Yesterday saw Vince Cable tell the LibDem conference of his plans for banks in the UK. He told conference that he wants to hit them, hurt them, restrict their HR functions, but what he really wants to do is nudge them.

I’ll get back to Vince in a minute, because I suppose that most of you have never heard of SEPA, it stands for the Single European Payment Area and is overseen by the European Payments Council, so a brief explanation of SEPA and its aims will help explain where Vince Cable is going.

UK Coalition speed up EU integration

There was a press release from the EU Commission today that caught my eye via the Albion Alliance presents site, which is a source for raw no spin EU related information.

The press release, which I doubt you will find any reference to in the UK press, was issued by Internal Market and Services Commissioner Michel Barnier who said:

It’s essential that European rules aimed at making the Internal Market work are implemented in Member States – in time and properly.

The Town Clerk’s piss-up on the taxpayer

Oh dear, the lunatics have most definitely taken to running the asylum. Council chiefs from across the country are attending a conference on dealing with spending cuts.

Sensible idea you may think, but its not all it seems and you realise that this is little more than a taxpayer funded junket. The cost (excluding accommodation) of talking about spending cuts will cost the taxpayer upto a mere £845 a head.

We are not talking about local elected representatives, but the already overpaid Chief Executives and their army of taxpayer funded hangers on.
