A revamp for the Libertarian Party website

For those of you who have not yet seen it, the Libertarian Party have revamped their website.

It is much stronger, bolder and more up to date with political websites.

Our thanks go to Ken Ferguson, Clarissa Clement and Simon Gibbs for their hard work and effort.

Do go take a look, and if you actually like the policies, common sense rather than political rhetoric, why not join up.

It’s not until voters begin to realise there is more available to them than the outdated old format Lib/Lab/Con and start voting in a different way that anything will really change for the better.

Press Release – Andrew Withers new LPUK Party Leader

UPDATED 1/12/10

I am informed that now Andrew Withers has been elected as Leader of the Libertarian Party, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills through their solicitors Osborne Clarke, has filed a new application to the court to have this decision struck down, and to oppose any ‘application’ to the Electoral Commission to register Andrew as Party Leader.

They do not feel that they need justify their decision, and have been critisized by the District Judge for ducking out of any court hearing who has now called a conference call of the parties for explanation.

Libertarian Party v The Government – latest

Following attempts by the Coalition to bar Andrew Withers from becoming Leader of the Libertarian Party we have taken legal advice and requested clarification from the Electoral Commission on the legality or otherwise of the government’s actions. I have previously posted on this here, here and here.

This afternoon the following email was received from the Electoral Commission and is their considered opinion on Vince Cable’s attempt to remove Andrew Withers as Leader of the Libertarian Party through the courts.

The current proceedings taken against you is a matter for the Courts to decide.

Andrew Withers vs Vince Cable – the saga continues

I have previously blogged here about the trials and tribulations of my friend and political colleague Andrew Withers.

Following is a statement issued today by Andrew updating us on his fight with the British state. It seems that the Tory/Lib Dem Coalition is carrying on oppressing the people of this country in much the same way as the Labour government did.

An Interview with Andrew Withers

I have known Andrew Withers since mid 2007, and have had the pleasure of working with him within LPUK since the party was founded in that November, publishing the original press release launching the Party on 1st January 2008 which we crafted jointly.

Much has happened to the Party since then in looking for the right balance to attract popular support, 3 party leaders (Patrick Vessey, Myself and Chris Mounsey), the standing of candidates for 3 parliamentary seats, the acquisition of a City Councillor in Stoke and a number of parish and town councillors.
