Moving on

Not me, but I must now return to a subject that for some I am sure they wish would simply go away. It won’t.

In these times of contrived events, public disorder and political opportunism, I am sure that there are many who consider that the four largest political groupings in the UK really do not represent them or their views.

LPUK – when the nutters take over…

It has long been said that LPUK attracts the nutters, something that I have tried to dismiss over the years but now… well with all the turmoil, the coup and the agitator in chief Malcolm Saunders calling the shots I have to think again.

Investigate, Investigate, Investigate says Malcolm Saunders. He is not happy that due process has taken place, he is not happy with those in authority over such matters such as the Electoral Commission and the LPUK NCC have followed their processes and found no wrongdoing or case to answer.

A revamp for the Libertarian Party website

For those of you who have not yet seen it, the Libertarian Party have revamped their website.

It is much stronger, bolder and more up to date with political websites.

Our thanks go to Ken Ferguson, Clarissa Clement and Simon Gibbs for their hard work and effort.

Do go take a look, and if you actually like the policies, common sense rather than political rhetoric, why not join up.

It’s not until voters begin to realise there is more available to them than the outdated old format Lib/Lab/Con and start voting in a different way that anything will really change for the better.

Press Release – Andrew Withers new LPUK Party Leader

UPDATED 1/12/10

I am informed that now Andrew Withers has been elected as Leader of the Libertarian Party, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills through their solicitors Osborne Clarke, has filed a new application to the court to have this decision struck down, and to oppose any ‘application’ to the Electoral Commission to register Andrew as Party Leader.

They do not feel that they need justify their decision, and have been critisized by the District Judge for ducking out of any court hearing who has now called a conference call of the parties for explanation.

An Interview with Andrew Withers

I have known Andrew Withers since mid 2007, and have had the pleasure of working with him within LPUK since the party was founded in that November, publishing the original press release launching the Party on 1st January 2008 which we crafted jointly.

Much has happened to the Party since then in looking for the right balance to attract popular support, 3 party leaders (Patrick Vessey, Myself and Chris Mounsey), the standing of candidates for 3 parliamentary seats, the acquisition of a City Councillor in Stoke and a number of parish and town councillors.

Beyond May7th – Keeping Liberty alive

It is six months now since I resigned my leadership of the Libertarian Party UK, and 3 months since I let my membership lapse.

I had good reasons to step back, let others take the reins and refrain from getting involved in the politics of LPUK. It has allowed me instead to concentrate my time and efforts on the democratic deficit with the EU referendum campaign group The Albion Alliance in preparation for the forthcoming elections, although I do wish those LPUK candidates who are standing for election the very best in their campaigns.
