Greek revenge – the Spartans fight back

After nearly 2 years of mind boggling humiliation at the hands of the unelected mafia in Brussels, the Greek government is to finally get its revenge.

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou has called a Referendum on the bail out deals forced on them by Barosso, the ECB and the IMF.

For Brussels this is the stuff of nightmares – letting the people have their voice on issues that the elite deem no-one but themselves should decide upon.

Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty

As much as I hold little faith in e-petitions, here is one I think may have legs.

Lisbon Treaty Exit Clause

Responsible department: Foreign and Commonwealth Office

We the British people petition the Government to make use of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. Exit Clause.

Our MPs voted the wrong way in the EU Referendum debate. Lets keep up the pressure and play them at their own EU game. Keep on voting until we get the right answer.

Prepare for 2011, the year Britain fights back

Anyone considering exercising and/or protecting their democratic rights, and/or trying to change the world into a better place would benefit from reading the Activist Security Handbook.

Written by UK activists who have successfully campaigned for over a decade in the face of increasing repression from the state and corporations, it was first published in 2004 and reprinted in 2008, so there are aspects that could be a little more up to date. That’s more than made up for by the excellent tried and tested information and advice across a range of subjects such as:

The Albion Alliance says the fight must go on.

The Albion Alliance says the fight must go on.

In April we wrote to you with the following:

Well Gordon Brown has finally gone to see the Queen, Parliament has been prorogued and the MP’s are no more. Many have stood down and will disappear like the mist, others will be standing again along with a host of new candidates all looking for your vote in this all important General Election to be held alongside the local authority elections on the 6th May 2010.

Albion Alliance – next steps

Its been a long and interesting weekend. I travelled north to meet my colleagues in the Albion Alliance, spending 2 days thrashing out some fairly detailed ideas and plans on how we move the campaign forward in the wake of a totally indecisive election.

Although I am not going to give precise detail yet of what we have decided, the key pointers will be around the known events, and the re-run of the general election that cannot be so far away that it is already a distant blip on the horizon, but definitely in view.

Our next steps will include:

Lisbon Treaty must be re-ratified – EU

In the autumn, Britain will have to re-ratify the Lisbon Treaty. Over in Brussels things are afoot and the first major Foreign Policy act of a new UK Prime Minister will be to go to Brussels to rubber stamp a treaty amendment.

On Election Day the European Parliament will vote to confirm an IGC (Intergovernmental Conference) which will take place on June the 17th and 18th in Brussels.

18 extra MEPs. Parliament will decide whether to allow treaty changes increasing the size of the European Parliament to take place without a full Convention (debate Wednesday, vote Thursday).

Election: Look a little closer at the small print

While walking down the street one day a “Member of Parliament” is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the  entrance.

‘Welcome to heaven,’ says St. Peter.. ‘Before you settle in,  it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.’

‘No problem, just let me in,’ says the man.

‘Well, I’d like to, but I  have orders from higher up. What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.’

Albion Alliance takes the campaign to the doorstep

Well Gordon Brown has finally gone to see the Queen, Parliament has been prorogued and the MP’s are no more.

Many have stood down and will disappear like the mist, others will be standing again along with a host of new candidates all looking for your vote in this all important General Election to be held alongside the local authority elections on the 6th May 2010.

The Albion Alliance has decided to now move its campaign into the constituencies along with the candidates, and take the fight for a referendum on the EU onto the doorstep.

Albion Alliance March Newsletter

Here we go with the March edition of the Albion Alliance Newsletter, and I do apologise for the late distribution of this as I needed to take some time out to recharge the batteries.

A campaign such as the Albion Alliance is always going to be a bit like an iceberg – the visible part is small but there is a lot going on under the water. However, unlike an iceberg we are not just drifting, but carefully aiming our campaign where we think it will have the most impact, and impact it certainly has had. It is quite clear that those in power as well as the public are watching, listening and taking note, with the campaign being read and acted upon by many.

And our Country

My good friend at Witterings from Witney posts the following:

According to the News of the World David Cameron will tell us tomorrow that we need him! FFS – we need more of the same like we need another hole in our heads!

The NOTW report says Cameron will give another pledge – to hard-working families that he will repay their support by putting them — and the country — first. Firstly, he has shown his pledges are worthless as he just keeps breaking them. Secondly, if he really did intend to put the country first, he would abandon his dictatorial denial to the country and allow them a referendum on our membership of the EU!
